The mission of the Honors College (HC) is to attract, recruit and retain high achieving, dedicated, and highly motivated students by providing enriching educational opportunities and experiences through an interdisciplinary curriculum that focuses on academic growth, community service, social and cultural awareness.
The Honors College offers Saint Augustine’s University’s most prestigious degree, the Honors Baccalaureate Degree, which can be earned in any major. Admission can be achieved through the following:
A minimum of 24 hours of Honors coursework; complete chosen degree program with 3.5 cumulative GPA; Full participation in the Honors College; Six semester of Honors Seminar. Students completing Tier 2 Honors College will receive the certificate, Honors College Medallion and the raised seal of the Honors College on the official transcript.
A minimum of 18 hours of Honors coursework; complete chosen degree program with a 3.4 cumulative GPA; Full participation in the Honors College; Four semesters of Honors Seminar. Students completing the Tier 3 Honors College will receive a certificate with Honors College seal and designation of certificate on the final transcript.
Discipline specific coursework leading to a student being designated as a Department Honors Scholar is offered through the academic departments.
