The mission of the Honors College (HC) is to attract, recruit and retain high achieving, dedicated, and highly motivated students by providing enriching educational opportunities and experiences through an interdisciplinary curriculum that focuses on academic growth, community service, social and cultural awareness.

Honors Baccalaureate Degree

The Honors College offers Saint Augustine’s University’s most prestigious degree, the Honors Baccalaureate Degree, which can be earned in any major. Admission can be achieved through the following:

  • Be a talented high school senior with a 3.5 above grade point average and accepted to Saint Augustine’s
  • Presidential Scholarship recipient.
  • Apply and be accepted into Honors College Summer Bridge program.
  • Apply as a second- semester freshman or first- semester with 3.3 grade point average.

Tier 2: Honors College Scholar

A minimum of 24 hours of Honors coursework; complete chosen degree program with 3.5 cumulative GPA; Full participation in the Honors College; Six semester of Honors Seminar. Students completing Tier 2 Honors College will receive the certificate, Honors College Medallion and the raised seal of the Honors College on the official transcript.

Tier 3: Honors College Certificate

A minimum of 18 hours of Honors coursework; complete chosen degree program with a 3.4 cumulative GPA; Full participation in the Honors College; Four semesters of Honors Seminar. Students completing the Tier 3 Honors College will receive a certificate with Honors College seal and designation of certificate on the final transcript.

Department Honor Scholar

Discipline specific coursework leading to a student being designated as a Department Honors Scholar is offered through the academic departments.
