Institutional Effectiveness & Planning

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is a valued support unit of the University and its constituencies that collects, analyzes, and disseminates essential information about Saint Augustine's University. Its vision is to be recognized within the University for its proactive leadership in promoting a culture of assessment. In addition, it serves as a primary source of information and assistance for planning and policy development.


The Office of Institutional Effectiveness plays a leadership role in the support and enhancement of ongoing institutional planning processes and assessment at Saint Augustine's University. More specifically, its mission is:

  • To assist with accreditation, assessment, and program evaluation processes through the provision of data and resources
  • To provide information essential to decision making at all levels of the institution
  • To make recommendations based upon data analysis and interpretation
  • To conduct research (self-initiated or by request) to uncover facts, provide explanations, or propose long and short range solutions and/or projections
  • To prepare reports as required or appropriate


  • To increase the efficiency and effectiveness with which accreditation, assessment, program review, and annual progress reporting are achieved
  • To collaborate with units in the development of strategies to meet unit assessment objectives
  • To contribute fundamental information and resources to evaluation processes
  • To generate, collect, and distribute data to appropriate units
  • To promote and support the continual professional development of OIE staff in order to apply best practices to the operation of the OIE office and its services


Saint Augustine's University is accredited by the Commission on Universitys of the Southern Association of Universitys and Schools to award baccalaureate degrees.
