Office of Marketing and Communication Hosted Social Media Etiquette Seminar

Sept. 29, 2011

alt Saint Augustine's University's Office of Marketing and Communications hosted a Social Media Etiquette seminar Tuesday, Sept. 27. The seminar was the first in the Office of Marketing and Communications' new Lunch and Learn series.

The social media seminar was facilitated by Wayne Sutton. Sutton is an entrepreneur, advisor and technology journalist. He recently co-founded NewMe Accelerator, the first minority led startup accelerator in Silicon Valley, which will be featured on CNN's upcoming "Black in America 4" that airs Nov. 13.

Sutton warned attendees that their content on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites could come back to haunt them if they are not careful.

"How you use social media is important because it reflects who you are, what you represent online and offline, and how people decide to connect with you," Sutton said. "Your social media presence is becoming your new resume, and your online behavior tells the world who you are."

The next lunch and learn seminar is scheduled for Oct. 11. The topic will be Marketing your Program for Success. Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
