Nine student-athletes named to CIAA All-Academic Team

Nine Saint Augustine’s University student-athletes were selected to the 2014 CIAA Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, which was released May 8, 2014. The team was nominated and selected by the CIAA Sports Information Directors’ Association.

Saint Augustine’s University led the CIAA with the most student-athletes on the All-Academic squad. Virginia State University was second with seven student-athletes. Eleven CIAA schools were represented on the team.

Seven student-athletes from Saint Augustine’s University earned first-team honors. They were football player Byron Munro (Sr./Ashburn, VA), softball players Daja White (Soph./Leland, NC) and Jo’Landa White (Jr./Leland, NC) and track & field performers Brittany Brown (Sr./Akron, OH), Taffawee Johnson (Sr./St. Ann, Jamaica), John King Jr. (Jr./Upper Darby, PA) and Cherrisse Lynch (Jr./St. Lawrence, Barbados).

Two Saint Augustine’s University student-athletes made the second team. They were basketball/volleyball player Victoria Davis (Sr./San Diego, CA) and bowler Nicole Sciortino (Jr./Raleigh, NC).
