So, What’s Next for SAU?
Strengthening Finances
Saint Augustine’s University is fortunate to have significant physical resources that will allow us to continue to remain operational. The Board of Trustees is currently finalizing business opportunities that will allow the University to gain cash for investing in and making significant improvements to the campus and resolving institutional debt. This includes ensuring that students with missing refund checks are compensated immediately after cash is on hand.
SAU is also focused on rebuilding and retraining a strong business and finance office that will ensure future compliance and financial controls.
Accreditation
SAU has an experienced team working on and off campus to help the University continue its accreditation. SAU is currently accredited and is exploring all available options to continue its accreditation beyond the legal process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Even in the worst-case scenario, no student who continues their journey with SAU will be in danger of earning a non-accredited degree. The team has developed a Teach-Out plan that will help place students in other accredited institutions if there is an adverse action taken.
Registration
SAU will be offering virtual classes for the 2024 summer session and will be offering an in-person experience in the fall 2024. Summer registration opens May 1, 2024.
Summer Session: June 27th to August 5th, 2024
Fall Session: September 3rd through December 13th, 2024, with the last week of regular classes and final exams being held virtually.
We anticipate returning for in-person instruction in spring 2025 as well.
Facilities and Services
To strengthen its services to students, SAU will be making improvements to classroom buildings and dormitories in preparation for the fall 2024 semester. Some buildings will be offline for the fall semester to allow for construction and remodeling. SAU is also looking to find a food service partner to meet the culinary needs of our students, faculty, and staff. SAU will continue to provide strong support services and engaging student activities across campus.
