Freshman Quincy January was named CIAA Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year by the CIAA Sports Information Directors’ Association on February 20.

An Atlanta, Ga., native, January is a big reason why the surprising Falcons are tied for third-place in the Southern Division with one game left in the regular season. The Falcons were picked to finish sixth by the CIAA coaches in the preseason.

“I am extremely proud of Quincy,” Falcons’ Head Coach MarQus Johnson said. “It is a testament to Quincy’s and his teammates’ dedication and hard work.
