The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is the centralized unit charged to coordinate research and sponsored program activities campus wide. The Unit strives to maintain a supportive environment for research and scholarly endeavors and encourages the faculty and staff to seek external funding to support the mission of the university and to explore alternative means to advance their professional interest.
The Sponsored Programs Unit primarily handles pre-award services, which encompass preliminary review and approval of projects with potential for external sponsorship, funding source identification, cost sharing analysis, compliance review, budget review and approval, and proposal processing and approval. Some post-award functions include: negotiation and acceptance contract and grant awards, facilitating no-cost extensions, change in key personnel, programmatic reports, and sub-award/subcontract acceptance and issuance.
