Dr. Itnuit Janovitz-Freireich, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Engineering, has been invited to participate in the Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013-Plus Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities – Introducing Participants to MPE2013+ Topics. The workshop is scheduled for January 7 – 10, 2014 at Arizona State University.

The workshop aims to introduce researchers who are at the beginning of their careers to each other and to leaders and other sources in the multidisciplinary environment in which mathematical science methods can be used to address problems of the planet in order to lead to long-term contact and collaborations.

The workshop is sponsored by the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science at Rutgers University and Arizona State University and is being supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation.
